At Skincare Junkie®, we take a strict, science-backed approach to ingredient safety and formulation. We avoid a wide range of potentially harmful or controversial ingredients, including parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives (such as DMDM hydantoin), oxybenzone and other chemical sunscreen filters of concern, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and certain silicones.

We also intentionally formulate without PEGs, synthetic fragrance, artificial dyes, essential oils, sulfates (like SLS and SLES), drying alcohols, and other common irritants or sensitizers—because even ingredients considered “safe” can still be problematic for sensitive or reactive skin.

In addition, we look beyond U.S. regulations. Many ingredients restricted or banned in the European Union are still permitted in the U.S., so we proactively exclude those as well to hold our formulas to a higher global safety standard.
